Transport Industry Driver Education (TIDE) is an education company dedicated to providing services to meet the clients’ needs and to raising the standards of education in the transport and construction sectors of Australia.
Transport Industry Driver Education started operations in February 2004. While working to build the business in through 2004, we became a registered training organisation (RTO) in February 2005 and an accredited VicRoadsVicRoads plans, develops and manages the arterial road network and delivers road safety initiatives and customer focused registration and licensing... More heavy vehicle training and testing provider in June 2005.
January 2006, we brought a fresh look to the transport training sector. While striving to make our business better, we were able to bring all training requirements for the transport sector under a ‘one provider’ structure. We are able to provide to the transport sector and prospective entrants into this industry a one-stop shop for all their training requirements.
February 2006 brought our first community based project. This project involved Transport Industry Driver Education working with a local learning group, giving each of these students the opportunity to work with the transport industry equipment. This will hopefully give each of these young adults the understanding of this machinery, while also giving them an appreciation on how the transport sector may help them with future work prospects.
July 2007 saw Transport Industry Driver Education be registered as a company, moving away from the initial sole trader operating structure.
September 2007 introduced certificate based training under the Federal Governments (Liberal Government) ‘Skills Voucher’ program where we specialised in training for the unemployed. While this program was successful on all levels for TIDE, it was replaced in May 2008 with Federal Governments (Labor Government) ‘Productivity Places Program’, again focusing on the unemployed sector.
October 2009 again seen changes in our business. During this period, Transport Industry Driver Education implemented a workplace training program for companies wishing to train their staff on the job. This business change allowed for the business to move its operations into South Australia.
During 2010, we were awarded a Victorian Government ‘Victorian Training Guarantee’ contract. From there we continued to focus our education product on the unemployed sector and opened up new doors for training in industry. 2010 also saw us bring 3 new Hino rigids into our fleet.
From 2004 until this present day, Transport Industry Driver Education has continued to grow on its strengths. While build a good working relation with each government department we deal with, we have grown our business to operate throughout Victoria and South Australia. Our main sites operate from bases in Somerton, Mooroopna / Shepparton and Mount Gambier.
2013 gave us the opportunity to look at news ways for our business to interact with our customers. These methods included facebook and YouTube.
